Scott Pilgrim vs. The World's 20th Anniversary Box Set - Unboxing (Is It Worth it?)
Oni Press has released a stunning new box set.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and Bryan Lee O’Malley and Oni Press have released a new box set to mark the occasion. The 20th Anniversary Box Hard Cover Box Set comes in both a black and white version, as the original comic was printed, and a colored version. I got the chance to pick up the latter at Strange Adventures and unboxed the set to let you know whether it’s worth checking out!
My experience with the Scott Pilgrim franchise dates back closer to its original release. The comics were essential to me, as seeing a Canadian-made comic with such a unique style made me immediately fascinated with the world. There’s a reason there have been several different adaptations of the property— it’s a blast to read front to back.
I was fortunate enough to buy an original page from Cal at Strange Adventures, which is displayed as one of the most prized possessions in my collection.
So, unboxing this set was exciting. And I can tell you — it's worth every penny if you can afford it. The hardcovers are gorgeous; the extras, including a metallic poster, multiple posters, stickers, and an extra book collecting the extras from the world of Scott Pilgrim, are must-haves. The hardcovers - whether you get the black and white or colored edition are now the best ways to read the story. And it’s all packaged in a PlayStation-like box that captures the energetic spirit of the story. Yes, it’s pricey, checking in at more than $330 CAD, but for those hardcore collectors, it’s worth it.
Here are the unboxing pictures! You can pick up the box set at your local comic book shop now.
