Patrick Horvath is the writer and artist behind Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees (with letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou) from IDW Publishing. The series follows Samantha Strong, a psychopathic, serial-killing bear, in a small, cozy town filled with anthropomorphic animals. Despite the cutesy aesthetic, the book is filled with gruesome and twisted moments. The book earned an Eisner nomination and has become so popular that Samantha made an appearance in the pages of DC Comics in the recent DC K.O.: Boss Battle crossover. In 2025, the comic received a sequel series, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring. On July 28th, the book is getting an Artist Edition, and Comic Frontier has a first look!
